Filed under: ELECTRONICS — 200702 at 2:15 am on Saturday, June 14, 2008

How can a robotic hand see the object before touching it? May be built-in camera is an acceptable explanation. But scientists provide a better way to do this.

Using electrolocation, the fingertips of the robot hand sent out a weak electrical impulse, and approaching objects interfere with than impulse, which allows the hand to form the object before touching it.
