Peel Off light

If you want to get a light full of personality and do not want to pay much time on it, you gotta like this design. You can customize it by peeling off the pre-scored tiles. In order to get more illumination, you need to peel off little more tiles.

The web app ‘Stumble’ brought me to this, and I don’t know why. This ‘design’ is what clueless, tacky and out of touch people refer to as ‘funky’.
It’s awful.

It would certainly be a conversation-starter.

i think that the orange is what pushes it to tacky. might be nice if the plastic was just white.

The idea’s funny, but it has a low furniture match-rate..

to Mandz:
Here’s the conversation it starts;
Friend: “Where’d you get that?”
You: “The internet.”
Friend: “What’s it do?”
You: “It’s a lamp.”

It would also be way more “personalized” if the thing wasn’t “pre-scored”. I would rather be able to decide what shapes to pull off rather than have someone give me a template. “Here is a way to express your individuality… Whoa, don’t get too crazy.. you’re still part of the masses remember!”

You dumbshits, it’s awesome and you know it. You can peel it off the way you want it. Don’t like it? Take some other plexiglas, put stickers on it, paint it, peel them off. Don’t be so closeminded but feel inspired.
