Mr. Skeleton is drinking.

20091222901

What would be more dreadful than a blood-sucking skeleton? The red beverage gradually runs into his mouth and Mr. Skeleton then makes a shrill, blood-curdling laugh, “Arghhhhhhhh!!!!!” God, I would say that is a typical scene of the Hollywood horror movies. But here, Mr. Skeleton is just a new type of straw. Awesome!

Count the ants…Read the time

20091222801

A dazzling watch…It is surprisingly full of so many red, green and orange ants. OMG, who can tell me what on earth the time is? I must have been the weakest student in mathematics of my class. So could you tell me the time shown here? Let me know if possible. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Coffee Mover

20091222701

Let me introduce you an easier way to move hot coffee, the ‘Coffee Mover’. It allows you to take eight cups at a time, without worrying about the coffee spilling out. Another ‘I should have though of it’ product. Three different types are available, and at least one type is believed to be the best for you. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Copenhagen Wheel from MIT

20091222501

The Copenhagen Wheel—an advanced wheel unveiled by MIT at the Copenhagen Conference on Climate Change in Denmark—is designed to work with your power to make your trip on the bike easier. In the scientists’ opinion, whenever you brake, certain power is created, which could be used to charge the internal battery inside the wheel. And when you’re faced with some difficulty, for example, in peddling up a hill, the internal battery will then power the internal motor to help you.

Moreover, with your iPhone app connected to the wheel’s sensors, you will get detailed information of your speed, direction and other data on your phone. Isn’t that amazing? If possible, I’d like a bike with wheels like this. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Robovie-II, making the grocery shopping easier

20091222401

Recently, a robot designed by Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International (ATR) is being tested in Kyoto-area supermarket. His name is Robovie-II and his work is to help the elderly with grocery shopping. Firstly, the shoppers should make a shopping list at home on a special mobile device, which will later be detected by sensors at the supermarket. After that, a waiting robot will accompany you to shop, reminding you of needed commodities, introducing certain items and even remarking how delicious the beef seems. Though so far it’s still being tested, I’ve started to look forward to a widespread use of Robovie-II. If we’re really too busy to accompany our grandmas out for shopping, why don’t we create something as clever as us to help her? I have to say, the idea behind the robot is quite great. Have you ever slept in the wild? Then you’re specialized in pitching a tent? If you say no to both questions, I’d like to suggest you a camping trip with the Bike Tent. Pots with Elegant Handles

20091222101

If you’re into cooking at all, you may appreciate these elegant handles designed by Valera Barnayev for ordinary pots and pans. Nothing is particular about the handles but the elegant shapes, and to some extent, they seem to be too beautiful and elegant to be used. I mean, shall we really need such handles? Those usual ones are enough for us. Anyhow, it’s still a good work. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Combine CHAIR into a chair.

200912211002

If possible, I’d really like to treat my life with designers as their creative ideas always blow me away a lot. Yes, I love designs and I love creativities! The ‘CHAIR’ is the most-impressive one amongst them all. As you can see from the pictures, the innovative chair includes 5 separate parts, each coming in a special letter shape, C, H, A, I, R. And when combining these letters together, wow, a chair is created for you! [Read the rest of this entry...]

Illuminated Air Crosswalk is expected to be firstly built in Russia.

20091221701

Have you ever seen any crosswalks built in the air? I mean, that’s really a crazy idea, as it’s not safe at all. However, designers in Art Lebedev Studio do have brought an Air Crosswalk into reality, not for you to walk on, but to help the drivers notice the pedestrians who are crossing the road (on the ground of course), by illuminating above the road. It’s not merely a concept, as the Russian government has decided to install the first Air Crosswalk in Tumen. If you don’t believe it, please wait and see. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Sitting or lying, use the PC in any positions you want.

20091221601

There is nothing wrong about having a hectic but fulfilling work life. But what about living a lazy life? We usually call those people couchpotatoes or lazy bones, but whether you admit it or not, lazy people do encourage the designers to think up some wonderful ideas, including the multifunctional PC Stand. It has three joints which all promise a 360-degree rotation on the mechanical arm, and therefore allowing you to adjust the stand into any angles, from 0 to 90. As a result, you can either sit in a sofa or lie on the bed to use your PC. It is available in various colors, such as black, red, golden, and blue. [Read the rest of this entry...]

iShoes makes walking easy.

20091221501

The traffic in and around cities is always a great problem. But one of the nice things about big problems is that they keep fueling our imaginations. And rightly here, is the so-called ‘iShoes’ by a college student who cares his little brother a lot and finally designed the special shoes for him. Using rechargeable lithium ion battery to power an electro motor (500w), the designer has successfully make the shoes to run at a speed of up to 21.7kmph. Anyone that weighs less than 133 kg is allowed to use the shoes. [Read the rest of this entry...]
