A compact Bathroom

20100112901

Who would ever imagine that a bathroom could be hidden in a cabinet? But the Compact Bathroom presented here has proved that is possible. Just open the cabinet, pull out each module and you’ll find a bathtub, a basin and other articles commonly needed in the whole unit. Wow, that’s a clever way to save the limited space.

Share the Music!

20100112801

The music is for sharing, for example, you could enjoy the same music with your friends by using the same pair of earphones. But what if three or more people want to enjoy the same music? Plug more pairs of earphones to your iPhone? You must be kidding. So you’ll need the ‘Altec Lansing Mini’, a practical mini speaker that creates a 360-degree sound field and therefore allows you to share perfect music with your buddies all the time.

It is applicable to any players with a 3.5mm audio port and powered by a built-in rechargeable lithium battery. And the point I love most is the interesting way to turn on the speaker and adjust its volume, which is all controlled by a simple twist. That is, you need to twist the speaker to a certain degree to make it work and twist it further to control the volume. Cool! [Read the rest of this entry...]

‘Shark Soup’

20100112701

Sharks…well, how do sharks taste? Possibly you should have a bowl of shark soup. But don’t be too afraid, as the soup actually didn’t use sharks as its material but adopted a shark-shaped bowl to contain it. Though the bowl only has a tiny extra part than usual ones, its price is surprisingly high, and such a bowl costs 54Euro! OH MY GOD! I’d like to receive it as a gift from my buddies. What’s this?

20100112601

Two lovely birds resting on a tree? Sure it is, but obviously they are not real birds kept for pleasure. Then what is the item actually used for? [Read the rest of this entry...]

‘Push on the light’ to illuminate the night.

20100112501

The only association between light and switch is that we use the switch to turn on/off the light. That’s totally right but Sungi Kim also believes that the switch itself could doubles a light. And that’s the main concept behind the innovative design ‘Push on the light’. It looks just like a simple switch for most of the time, but it will then work as a light when you push on the short end of it. Amazing! [Read the rest of this entry...]

Mini-sized World Map

20100112401

It is a decorative part on a microchip and it measures only 40 micrometers across. Even if you observe the item closely, I bet you still couldn’t figure out what it is used for because you can see nothing but a black spot. So what are we to argue? The 1 trillionth scale world map—also the smallest world map—created by the Photonics Research Group of Ghent University in Belgium. If you couldn’t imagine how tiny the map is, you should check out how wide your single hair measures and the map is just half the width of that. Wow, once again the creation makes us want to sing the praises of the great development of high technology.

Short Circuit Shelf

20100112301

We have to admit, that the designer Alexandra DiCairano has successfully helped us to notice the artistic quality of the ‘ugly’ circuits with the elegant Short Circuit Shelf. It seems these shelves have become natural parts of the wall without trying to remind you of their existence. And obviously it’s the best choice for those who work as computer engineers. Double Headed Watering Can

20100112201

Before we start the article, I have a silly question for Saebyul Lim, that is, won’t the user get their clothes wet if he/she unconsciously shakes the can when watering the flowers? (I care about that a lot because I do have that bad habit.) And apart from that, the Double Headed Watering Can is really the most elegant and eye-pleasing watering can we’ve ever met. Still it’s a watering can more convenient for us to use, coz we could use either sides to fill in or pour the water. That’s just so easy! [Read the rest of this entry...]

Pen Concept Mobile Phone

201001111001

It is good to preview what the world would be like 10 or 20 years later, and all that is founded on the development of technology. But imaginations go faster, and the Pen Concept Mobile Phone here just gives us a chance to know what our cellular phones look like in the future.

It is comprised of three pens that act as the keyboard of the handset and a stretchable touch panel (which works as a display) hidden between two pens. Although one of the three pens could be used independently to write on the display, almost everything is based on voice control.

We’re not sure when it is available, but if you’ve been looking for a similar phone like this, then the Pen Concept Mobile Phone is rightly the one for you. Leave your comments below if you think it is a cool-looking cellular phones. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Eco-friendly Cellphone powered by sugary drinks

20100111801

The conceptual cellphone from Nokia is achieved by a young Chinese designer, Daizi Zheng. Different from usual mobiles powered by lithium battery, the eco-friendly phone adopts bio battery (which generates electricity from carbohydrates) as the power source. Therefore you only need to buy a can of cola to power your phone when the battery dies out, and claimed by Daizi Zheng, “Bio battery has the potential to operate three to four times longer on a single charge than conventional lithium batteries”. So it would be nice to see this practical concept hit the marketplace soon. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Movable Power

20100111701

An innovative power strip should always serve us well, and thanks to the “Movable Power” by Jeff Carter, we no longer need to adjust our space to accommodate the strips as we used to do. It allows you to adjust the entire strip to meet your different needs and therefore promises you a more convenient use. Pity that it is only a concept at present and we may wait for days to see the practical product hit the market. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Scratch those unhappy days off.

20100111601

What if you could scratch those blue days off and just remember the happy time? My dear friends, the sorrow we ever felt will surely fade away one day and may be the calendar will comfort you a bit before that. Inspired by the scratch cards, these calendars allow you to scrape any day off the paper. As a result, only those dates with a happy experience will be left and we do hope that whenever you look through the calendar, you will always think of the happy time you used to have. I agree with that famous proverb—time is always the great physician. [Read the rest of this entry...]
