Ring Calendar

20100122201

Designed by Sebastian Bergne for Spunique, ‘Ring Calendar’ is a hand-operated wall calendar that asks the users to rotate the three different rings to get the correct time information. And these rings, laser-cut from MDF sheet, separately reflect the date, month and day. Though that sounds bit of troublesome, you’re expected to treasure every passing day as a result. LED Sketch Art

20100122101

We’’already covered some attractive LED designs in the blog, but the ‘LED Sketch Art’ is totally different from all those. It is a toy which allows you to ‘draw’ a glowing picture by sticking LEDs into the board. Powered by batteries, USB cable, AC wall adapter, or car adapter, the LED toy could be easily taken along with you, and therefore to ensure you a ‘drawing’ time (also ‘enjoying’ time) whenever you want. The ‘Camera Lens Calendar’ designed by Sharad Haksar must have made every photographers who saw it here feel excited and they may even have the impulsion to DIY one such calendar with their own cameras. Zaha Hadid Faucet

201001211401

Zaha Hadid Faucet is a flowing faucet that seems more like an elegant sculpture on the first glance. And inspired by the fluidity of water, the faucet itself has been quite successful in presenting us the seamless amalgamation of fluid, with its integrated continuous flow. But an aesthetic appearance is not its only feature. The faucet also allows you to drink water directly through a separate waterway and you needn’t to worry about the tap water contaminating that. Available in a metallic color and a ceramic core, Zaha Hadid Faucet will suits both your bathrooms and kitchens well. [Read the rest of this entry...]

A Secret Garage

201001211301

“Are we going to argue an innovative car today?” No wonder you may thought of that as there’s nothing in the pictures but a cool car. Pity you’ve all guessed wrong, and we’re to show you a creative garage instead. It is a hidden garage, which won’’be easily noticed unless you start the system. After that, as you can see in the pictures below, a garage then appears rightly below the car. Wow, that’s really a surprising way to park your cars and of course will cost you much money if you’d like one. [Read the rest of this entry...]

What’s this?

201001211201

One spring, with a stick on the upper end, the construction of the product is quite simple, but what do you think that is used for? 【Hints: the item measures 30cm long and you would find it in the kitchen. 】 [Read the rest of this entry...]

LED Pendant Lamp

201001211101

That’s a ceiling light for real? Bravo! Including 108 LEDs and several fiber-optic cables, seemingly the lamp has created numerous shining stars in the room. You could also DIY a similar one with fishing lines and LEDs if you wouldn’t like to spend too much money on a lamp. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Lovepot Humidifier

20100121901

‘Lovepot’ is the name of these cute humidifiers featuring a tissue ball made from laminated wool. Due to the wool material, the Love Pot is an eco-friendly humidifier that absorbs water from the air fast and makes full use of the limited water to maximize evaporation for the whole room. Still better, the design is in no need of energy supply.

And the best part is that all the profit of the pot will be donated to Nanum Project as a charity to provide educational scholarships to impoverished children. [Read the rest of this entry...]

DIY Non-lethal Mousetrap

20100121801

Perhaps except for Walter Disney, no one would agree that mice are lovely, not to mention living in the same room with them. Yes, we hate mice and we want to drive them out the house. So we’d like to introduce you a better and non-lethal idea to cope with those little guys. The perfect manner is from Blogger Chris “MacGyver” Glass, and Glass described how he caught the mouse as followings:

1. Get a toilet paper tube and crease two lines to form a flat sided tunnel.

2. Put a treat on one end of the tube: A cracker and dab of peanut butter works great.

3. Get a tall (at least 20 inches) bucket. A trash can work well.

4. Balance the tube precariously on the edge of a table or counter with the treat hanging directly over the tall sided receptacle.

5. The mouse will scurry to the treat (they like tunnels) and fall into the trap.

Set the fella loose at least a mile away from your abode.

Postnote: It worked within the hour.

Have you also been bothered by mice? If so, you should try Glass’s method as that really sounds great.

Recompute: A Sustainable Desktop Computer

20100121701

To do away with those not-so-eco-friendly materials used to manufacture computers, Brenden Macaluso has come up with ‘Recompute’, a sustainable desktop computer with a slick cardboard case. Though looks bit of fragile, it is a fully functioning computer that uses an Intel Core Duo CPU with 2GB RAM, and also has 8 USB ports for you to add external components. But there’s still one problem about the possible ignition, due to its cardboard materials. Well, in fact you needn’t worry about that, because cardboard won’t burn until 258°, and that’s much higher than the 120° at which plastic melts. [Read the rest of this entry...]

TMT Tactical Wallet

20100121601

Obviously the ‘Swiss Army Knife’ has deeply affected both the designers and the consumers, and the former are developing compact products that come with more essentials these days. The TMT Tactical Wallet is just one of them. It is a small wallet, but includes almost everything you may need, such as a compass, tweezers, a toothpick, a pen, a glass breaker and a couple of hidden compartments. Sadly the wallet is already 0.5 lb without your money or cards in it, and it doesn’t seem that convenient for you to put it into your pocket. But who cares? We could use it as a toolbox rather than a wallet. [Read the rest of this entry...]

BearExtender n3 is an innovative WIFI extender.

20100121501

WIFI extenders are not new to us, but the BearExtender n3 is still refreshing. It is an external Wi-Fi adapter for Macs and developed by Rolan Saekow, a graduate from Berkeley. Shown in TUAW’s testing, the BearExtender could help to create stronger signals and higher throughput when used over the internal Wi-Fi. And such a device only costs you $44.97. Sounds like a good deal. [Read the rest of this entry...]

It features an offset design, which allows the users to hold their cup stably when they’re also busy with the snacks. You can even write on the holder’s neck to remind people not to take your cup by mistake. [Read the rest of this entry...]
