Wheel Rider Concept For Yamaha

It is nice for us to see what the personal commuting vehicles would be like in the future, especially when we’ve just finished an old year and started a new year. Designed by Yuji Fujimura for Yamaha, the Wheel Rider is an innovative personal vehicle that features both a compact size and a functional shape. It consists of three layers, a solid metal outer body, a big wheel at the middle and a driving cab inside. Compared with two-wheeler vehicles, the Wheel Rider has greatly reduced its size, therefore to some extent solving the problem of heavy traffic on city roads.

Shakeable MP3 Player from Samsung

Announced during Samsung’s CES press conference, the TicToc is believed a perfect alternative to Apple’s iPod Shuffle. Based on a built-in motion sensor, TicToc allows the users to change tunes by shaking the player slowly or quickly. The more slowly you shake the player, a much gentler music will be chosen, and vice versa. There’s a big button on one end to control the volume and a headphone port on the other. Turn the button to face the ground when you want to decrease the volume and make sure the button faces up if you’d like to increase the volume. The Samsung TicToc could support MP3, WMA, OGG, and FLAC audio formats with 12 hours of battery life. Plustek helps you create audio books.

Do scanners merely turn printed text into digital format? Apparently the answer is no, as the ‘BookReader’ launched by Cerritos, CA-based manufacturer Plustek Technology Inc also reads the book for you. Mainly aiming at visually impaired users who still want to read books, the device not only uses the optical character recognition software to convert printed books or documents into digital formats, but adopts the text-to-speech recognition software to translate them into audio files. So simply put a book page on the scanner, press the button and then you can listen to the page. That’s cool!

The device could scan in three different modes: plain text, a grayscale PDF scan and a color scan.
