Yellow Fin Lamp

20100521101

Are you dissatisfied with your current wall lamps? Well, what if you could just leave the lamp set into the wall when not using it and switch it on via simple motion? That’s what Kasper Salto and Thomas Sigsgaard have worked out for the Mindcraft 10 exhibition held by Danish Crafts in Milan. Named as “Yellow Fin”, the minimal lamp features two arms and a round head. To turn on the lamp, you need to pull the two arms out of the wall one after another. Its head is adjustable, enabling you to focus the beam in a desired direction. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Toilet Paper Core Used As A Memo

20100520301

Who would ever consider recycling the toilet paper core except for Kim Ji-eun? I mean, the designer is quite unusual, but still ingenious. The Day Re Toilet Roll comes with a creative core that can unfold into a memo pad when you pull the sticker on it. But do we really need such a design? You are the one to decide. Protect 486 Motorcycle Security System

20100520201

I love the idea. Inspired by natural defense mechanisms of animals like the armadillo, Marc Graells has come up with a unique defense system that is quite different from those on the market. It not only raps around your motorbike to protect it from sunshine and rainwater, but guards the bike against thieves using a burglar alarm that comes along. Simply put, the Protect 486 looks like a portable private garage for your motorcycles. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Reevu Helmets With An Integrated Rear View System

20100519101

Numerous automakers and helmet makers are trying to tackle the problem of safe driving, including the Reevu with its MSX1 helmet concept. After having been around for several years, the innovative concept finally becomes a real product, and the Reevu MSX1 helmet is the worlds’ first helmets with an integrated rear view system. The multiple mirror system, made from a reflective polycarbonate material, can help the riders to see what’s going on out and back while not making their heads feel uncomfortable. Though the riders do need some time to get used to viewing both the sides and the back simultaneously, the MSX1 helmet would help a lot to reduce the traffic accident frequency. Seemingly the metro trains are always crowded, no matter at what time and from which platform we get on them. Fortunately the “Comfort Zone Display” can help you out of that bustling crowd, by showing you the passenger density of the next train on those redesigned display boards at stations. With that information, you can not only know clearly where to stand on the platform to board the train, but no longer suffer from overcrowding. [Read the rest of this entry...]
