Believe it or not, the straws are so fundamentally perfect that there’s almost no point improving them. The only changes of straws we’ve seen these years are increasing forms or kinds. But that’s not enough to deter the designers, who figured out that it would be fun to create Ice Straws. All that you need is the food-grade silicone ice tray. Simply put the inner straws into the mold, fill the ice tray with water or juice, freeze it in the refrigerator, then you can have ice straws and enjoy your cooler summer!

I don’t understand how this is a straw. The mold doesn’t seem to involve anything in the middle preventing the water from being there. Only at the ends. Maybe I’m just not looking at it right, or something.

Anon- There is a plastic tube that fits inside each mold and snaps in to both ends. So the water forms ice around the tube. The picture on the left shows the plastic tube sitting on the top of the mold.

you don’t use it to drink out of, it’s just to keep your drink cold in a decorative way

TO Anonymous: if its not something you drink out of then why does the post say ice straws? i really don’t understand the concept or how you can drink out of it, i would rather call them ice sticks..

theres a straw that the water freezes around….a straw covered in ice. the ice chills the drink as it goes up the straw…which is inside the ice.
