How well do you know your bruises, or more exactly how often should one person change for a new bandage in case that the wounds become infected? Whatever you may say, these Color Changing Bandages obviously know your wounds better than you.

Developed by scientists from Fraunhofer Research Institution, these bandages each comes with an indicator dye that changes color as the pH value of your wounds varies and you need to have a new one when it changes to purple.

In initial tests, the prototype of the color-changing bandage was proved successful and now the researchers are planning to integrate optical sensor modules into the bandages so as to indicate the pH value more precisely.
