With several years spent on observing southeastern Australia’s Murray Darling basin, the Swinburne University of Technology student Edward Linnacre has created a low-tech device to solve the problem of water-lack in arid climates. His idea is the Airdrop, which collects moisture from the air and then store water under the ground for use. The results turned out good, and in his initial prototype Linnacre produced about a liter of water in one day. Also due to Airdrop‘s wonderful performance, the device now brings to Linnacre this year’s James Dyson Award. Congratulations.
