Origami That Folds Itself

The material is really magic, as it can fold up itself automatically once you shine the light on it. But as a matter of fact, the principle of the origami is quite simple: different types of materials feature different levels of ability to absorb energy. So you can successfully do the experiment too: prepare a sheet of pre-stressed plastic, print bold black lines onto it, trim the sheet into the shape you want, and shine an infra-red light on it – look, the material then folds itself.
