Air-free Tire Concept

On 2011 Tokyo Motor Show, Japan-based Bridgestone has showcased a new type of tire that is both air-free and prevent from dam puncture itself. Built with a tough but flexible thermoplastic structure, the tire actually behaves like a like a normal tire while with nary any horizontal force produced. It’s quite powerful too, each is able to support around 150kg and that’s certainly enough for personal mobility devices. Currently the Bridgestone is still researching how to protect against objects getting lodged inside, and they plan to issue the air-free tire to the market in 2013.

Our Army Hummers are using these in Afghanistan right now.
it’s a honeycomb design same basic tech though and they work good to.
now if you can get them to use recycle tires exclusively to make these
then THERE’S the concept.
