when my lower back injury is acting up, about once every two months for five or more days at a time, this would be a very handy device.

Perhaps just maybe this is for the elderly, or people with degenerative bone disease, or people with knee/hip replacements?

Plenty of morbidly obese people might like this as well as elderly.
