Inspired by cat’s retractable claws, designer Toshi Fukaya has thought of the idea of the Biomimetic Pushpins, which would not only successfully keep your fingers from sudden hurt when you reach into a box full of them, but still performs as well as ordinary pins: a smooth silicon capsule encases the pin, while it will compresses under pressure as you stick the pin into the wall. Really clever!
