Developed by MIT researchers of Varanasi Research Group, ‘LiquiGlide’ is a ‘super slippery ’coating that makes emptying your ketchup and mayonnaise bottles a breeze. The special coating is made of nontoxic FDA approved materials. And it can be applied to the inside of different kinds of food packaging materials such as glass and plastic. According to this MIT team, if all those bottles had the coating, “we could save about one million tons of food from being thrown out every year.” What a great invention! It helps reduce food waste and facilitates condiment bottle recycling. Check out the video to see how ketchup flows out a LiquiGlide-coated bottle and you will be amazed that nothing is left inside!
