20101214201

Rainbow Rulers

20101202101

Almost all the measurement tools use figures to indicate the lengths and widths, except for the Rainbow Rulers which use seven different colors to tell a figure. But since every ruler represents 1 cm, you can merely use them to measure those items measuring less than 7 cm. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Bookmark Pen Design

bookmark_if final

Although bookmarks are created for us to mark a book, we in fact often use a pen instead so that we can always make some notes on the book. Steve Yang Che-Hsiao must have the same experience as that we have and the designer has created a new pen dubbed “Bookmarkpen”. While in bookmark mode, the gadget is so compact that you can easily put it between the pages without any thickness to the book. And if you need a pen, simply fold the bookmark and then a pen is instantly transformed. Nice concept. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Creative Bulb Shaped Memo Pad

20101005201

It also has another name “Tag-it!” The idea behind the memopad is quite simple but interesting: for days a bulb that emits beams of light has become the dominant image for gleams of inspirations, and therefore such a memo pad was created for you to write down your best ideas. But apart from the bulb shape, the “Tag-it!” actually has a real soft light that you can switch on by pulling the label on side, to enlight the place where you can take a note. So even you come up with a nice ideas during the dreams, you can still manage to write it down with “Tag-it!” and that sounds really practical. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Watch Diary

20101004201

Some designs are so fundamentally perfect that there’s little need in improving them. Taking notebook as an example, the properties of paper sheets are nice and the plain patterns are also okay. But that’s still not enough to deter Wonjune Song, who has come up a new diary that features a clock set in the middle of the pages. The clock has three different hands to indicate your different tasks: red for the current task, the “before hand” for past affairs and the “forward hand” for the upcoming ones. Well, that’s really a useful book for those who always have to deal with various tasks. [Read the rest of this entry...]

V-tape By Zhichuan Tang

20100907301

Honestly, I would prefer to look for a scissor even though the V Cut cellotape is indeed a good design that ensures an easier usage than regular cellotapes. As all the V cuts are designed in the same place, you cannot tear out smaller than one roll length and that no doubt results to waste. So my suggestion is: always take along a scissor or forgive yourself wasting the tapes. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Lollipop Pencils

20100902301

Here’s an idea I love most, the Lollipop Pencils! Using a lollipop to take the place of regular erasers, the new pencil is quite safe for eating so that mothers no longer have to worry about kids chewing on their pencils. Think that sounds sweet? But the only problem you need to know is that you cannot directly put them down onto the tables unless you’ve finished the lollipop. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Upstanding Retractable Markers

20100820501

Who could find his/her markers in the possible shortest time? Our answer is Doron Livne, the designer of the Upstanding Retractable Markers. Similar to Weeble Wobbles, these markers can stand up on their own or struggle to make themselves upright so that you would never have to look for a pen in a hurry. Besides, the sketch marker also has a retractable nib, which reduced the chances of leaking nibs. But can such a marker last long as it doesn’t have a cap? [Read the rest of this entry...]

20100814401

It’ll be the smartest tool in your pencil boxes. To draw straight lines, locate the “Constrained Ball” at the tip of the pen, move the drawing aid and then done! So with this writing tool, everybody can draw straight lines without the help of a ruler. But that’s not all, as the tool is also equipped with a measuring wheel that allows the users to draw desired line length in three directions—horizontal, vertical and 45-degree angle. ‘leaf-it’ Memo Pads By Sangwoo Nam

20100814101

When we were still a child, we used to put the maple leaves or ginkgo leaves between pages of a book and they were possibly the first kind of bookmarks we’ve ever met. Today, Korean designer Sangwoo Nam is still using leaves as bookmarks. However, they’re not real ones from trees, but simply feature the same shapes and colors of leaves. Even so, these artificial leaves are indeed beautiful and vivid, giving us aesthetic satisfaction. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Safety Cutter, Cut Safely!

20100715101

Only the God knows how much I needed the Safety Cutter—I’ve had more than three finger-cuts on my left thumb, even though I tried to use the knives as carefully as possible. But the Safety Cutter will take care of your fingers. It features a knife that is attached to a ruler, which not only helps you to cut the sheet effectively, but protects your fingers at the same time. Apparently the Safety Cutter wouldn’t change my past, but it surely will change your future. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Take-out Memo

2010629101

When arguing about the must-haves in the office, we found that most people voted for coffee and memo pads—a cup of black coffee can refresh you and the memo will always remind you of the important affairs. So maybe inspired by the above findings, Sung Hyeop Seo combined coffee cup and memo pad together, creating the interesting Take-out Memo. As for the straw inside the cup, well, it’s actually a pen. Multifunctional Book Stand

Re-Knife Pencil Knife

20100604301

At first glance, the Re-Knife Pencil Knife seems like a terrible idea, featuring something that we seldom use. But you may still need it in certain conditions. Five Pointed Eraser

20100505101

At the first glance, Five Pointed Eraser seems like a terrible idea, bringing needless complexity to something that is so simple: erasing the errors. But to those who want their work to always look sharp, that’s a useful gadget. It features five different heads (respectively measures 1mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm and 6mm wide), rubbing out merely the errors while nothing else. And most important, the eraser won’t quickly become useless for its purpose as most people might have thought, because the worn-down erasing heads could be detached to expose sharp new heads. Scheduled to be released on May 13th, the Five Pointed Eraser will soon hit the stationery market. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Sprout Pen Concept

20100311401

May it have you feel disappointed or not, I’d still like to declare that the ‘Sprout’ Pen is merely a concept from Igor Lobanov before we start the topic. But it’s really a refreshing idea, featuring a housed plant in the bulk. The containment plant lives on the ink, which means you will see the plant inflate and change color from yellow to vibrate green as the pen sits in the inkwell and takes in the ink. Luxirare Edible Crayons

20100303401

Can crayons be used for any other purposes? My answer is: taking them as food and eating them up…provided that what we’re arguing about are the Luxirare Edible Crayons. They’re made from the powder of real food, such as the nuts, fruits, dried vegetables, seeds and so on. Yups, they’re 100% edible and especially perfect for kids who often bite their crayons! Use the palm of your hand as a notepad.

201001141101

Notepad is not the only thing we use to take down important information and in fact, most of us still prefer to write down something directly on the palms of our hands. That’s really a more convenient way to take notes but what about cleaning them? Yep, it bothers everyone a lot. So the ‘Pen+Sprayer’ system seems like a better choice. It features a spray which contains specialized chemical and when you spray some onto the palm of your hand, you’ll find a make-shift writing surface later there for you to take down messages. Just spray, wait and then you can doodle whatever you like on your skin, that’s so easy! [Read the rest of this entry...]

Luminous Instant Paster

201001081001

With this Luminous Instant Paster, you can say goodbye to those ugly note posters. Using the word ‘paster’ to take the place of the more often-use word ‘poster’, the designer Se Xin just wanted to emphasize the light’s outstanding feature that it could be easily pasted anywhere on the wall rather than merely on the paper. With numerous LED lights working at the same time, Luminous Instant Paster can give out an attractive but soft light in the night so that you wouldn’t forget your dates any more.

Luminous Instant Paster will always attract your eyes, especially in the nights. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Murder Ink

Unichal Dixau DX3 Digital Dictionary

20100104501

At an earlier time, we used to look up words in dictionaries, and nowadays we turn to the electronic dictionaries for help. But there’s still too much work we need to do, say, we have to key in every hard word from time to time, and therefore we start to look for something better.

Possibly it is rightly the Unichal Dixau DX3 Digital Dictionary that we’ve been expected for years. Equipped with a camera, DX3 can take a picture of any word you want to define, look it up quickly and show you the definition on its screen. Sounds great, huh? Well, thanks to the development of technology, we can study and work more effectively nowadays. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Ruler Pen

20091215601

Hmmmm…Have you had any similar experiences before? Perhaps we were all him (the person in the pictures) at one juncture in our lives, I mean, we used to forget the rulers and had to look for something flat, a book for example, to use it as a ruler. Then the Ruler Pen by ShiKai Tseng will be a great help to careless students like you and me. So next time you forget to bring a ruler, just take out a pen cap and use it as a ruler. That’s so easy!
