Utilizing a photochromic screen-print composition, designer Solenne Morigeaud has constructed the “Hide-and-seek with the Missing” floor that will reveal a vivid color palette whenever exposed to UV light. By designing such a color-changing floor, Solenne aims to bring the public with the awareness of many floral species extinction threat, as well as to inform them the importance of preservation of nature.

Chemistry and art are two separate words that seemingly would never have any connections, but designer Pani Jurek’s “Maria S.C. Lamp” has now brought them together. Looking like a crystal chandelier, the lamp is actually made from chemistry test tubes placed into circular plywood bands. It seems completely nice when without anything in the tubes, but the result becomes more amazing when each tube is filled with colored liquid or inserted with flowers.

What is the function of a vase? When asking that question again and again, designer Giorgia Zanellato discovered that too many vase designs nowadays focus on the appearances of the vases too much while seldom displaying flowers well enough.  Giorgia wants to change the trend, and thus puts forward the Narciso, a series of vases made in borosilicate glass, powder-coated aluminum and mirrored stainless steel to change a simple flower or stem into a complex kaleidoscope effect. These designs have succeeded, cleverly drawing our attention to the flowers, even without letting us notice the change.

Especially designed for kids who love playing in a sweet environment surrounded by green trees, the unique bedroom is decorated with swings, climbing ropes, tree paintings and a folding table that can transform into magnetic chalkboard. What else can the belts do for you, except for tightening your trousers? London-based designer Inghua Ting offers us an interesting but really amazing answer: the old belts could decorate your table tops, walls and floors, in forms of 12- and 18-inch square belt tiles. You got this? It’s truly practical idea to recycle your used tiles.

2D or 3D, currently almost all designs are seemingly to face that question. But actually it’s not that difficult to make a decision, because one could become both 2D and 3D at the same time. The Keyboard Wall is rightly a good example. It’s constructed with thousands of keys collected from old computer keyboards, creating a 2D image when you view them from the front while offering 3D pleasure as well since you can feel their unique shapes.

Using an old marbling technique, Pernille Snedker Hansen of Snedker°Studio has created a new series of flooring wood with rich colors, variable lines and elegant shapes. Definitely I’ll get my fish such an interesting new house, if I had ever raised some fish.

Steve Kuhl is absolutely a greatest father, because he has built so spectacular a bedroom for kids that almost every adult would dream to get it. The theme for this bedroom is “pirate ship”, and walking through it you’ll see walls painted with colors of the sea, a ship, and a rope bridge that connects the ship to the top of a jail cell. Thus it is a real kids’ house, a bedroom for them to live in, study in and also play in. Brilliant!
