‘Mobile Radar’ from Nokia

Researchers at Nokia Research Center unveiled the ‘Mobile Radar’ during “Demo House 2010″. Using the same technology adopted by the police to give you a ticket for speeding, the device could measure an object’s distance, speed and direction. Therefore, you can control your cellphone via simple gestures without touching it. It is good to preview what the world would be like 10 or 20 years later, and all that is founded on the development of technology. But imaginations go faster, and the Pen Concept Mobile Phone here just gives us a chance to know what our cellular phones look like in the future.

It is comprised of three pens that act as the keyboard of the handset and a stretchable touch panel (which works as a display) hidden between two pens. Although one of the three pens could be used independently to write on the display, almost everything is based on voice control.

Eco-friendly Cellphone powered by sugary drinks

The conceptual cellphone from Nokia is achieved by a young Chinese designer, Daizi Zheng. Different from usual mobiles powered by lithium battery, the eco-friendly phone adopts bio battery (which generates electricity from carbohydrates) as the power source. Therefore you only need to buy a can of cola to power your phone when the battery dies out, and claimed by Daizi Zheng, “Bio battery has the potential to operate three to four times longer on a single charge than conventional lithium batteries”.
