20091217801

Rhett Dashwood is a CD (creative director) with much experience. From October 2008 to April 2009, he spent much time on the Google Earth to look for certain buildings or terrains that are shaped like the 26 letters. Half a year later, Rhett Dashwood finally succeeded and right here are his discoveries—26 terrains from Victoria State, Australia make up an alphabet. Bravo! [Read the rest of this entry...]

31 girls are apologizing on the web.

200912097001

31 girls are apologizing on the web…That’s not a shocking piece of news but a new service provided by an interactive website ‘Ayamari Bijin’. You can find out the girls’ blood types, choose one, and ‘hire’ her to apologize to your friends, your boss or any other people. But do we really need such a service? As in my mind, nothing is better to comfort others than your personal actions. Nevertheless, that’s still a perfect idea! [Read the rest of this entry...]

What couldn’t a potato do?

200912085001

What couldn’t be artistic, if the most common potatoes have been turned into art works? Via a series of portraitures painted on potatoes, the Japanese designer successfully shows us various aspects of human life.

“Why facial expressions are drawn on potatoes”, the designer explained, “is because potatoes seem to be striking similar to human faces. Not only potatoes have uneven skins, and like us, they have different sizes, shapes and forms.” Amazing! [Read the rest of this entry...]

Look, what is the set of glasses telling you.

2009112915

Don’t take these colorful dots merely as decorations, what they really do would astonish you a lot. You don’t think so? Well, pour in some beverage into, and see what it will do…Look out! Some words gradually appear among the dots, in the same color as the drink. In that way, white words for milk, yellow for orange, brown for coca cola, then, what is for water?

It works in a way like this: those seemingly irregularly-place dots are designedly arranged. So if the liquid you pour into it matches any kind of the pre-determined acceptable liquids, the colorful dots will go transparent, and certain words will then appear. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Berlin might get The Berg

2009112029

According to ‘The Berg’ website, Berliners are getting down to considering creating a man-made mountain in Berlin, as another tourist-attracting option. Proposed by the German architect Jakob Tigges, the largest man-made mountain will be 1000m tall, and covered with snow on its peak for at least half the year. If that finally come true, a range of activities like skiing, hang-gliding and rock climbing would be available to the Berlins, rightly inside their city. But is the mountain just a hoax or a real opportunity? We may keep a watch on ‘The Berg’ website to find the answer. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Embed a watch in the skin

2009071302

Wow, so awesome! Traditionally, you wear a watch, but now you…support a watch. Embedded in your skin, the watch is powered by the biological energy, and that’s why I mean you support a watch. If you’d like to reset the time, you firstly have to connect the watch to other external devices, in a wireless way of course. Moreover, the watch won’t appear unless you flex your wrist. Pity it’s just a concept watch at present. Could anyone develop a real one? Let me know.

‘Sniff Test’ to Measure Degradation of Old Books

2009111801

The goal of the ‘Sniff Test’ is to measure the degradation of old books, and therefore to preserve them in proper ways.

Most people may not pay special attention to the musty taste released by books, but the scientists have proved 15 chemicals contained in that smell would help us a lot to deduce the age of a book. The method, claimed the researchers, is also applicable to historical artifacts.
