Sand Bowls

20120111031

Can the movement of sand get kept forever? Well, that’s obviously not a question at all, since we all have a camera. But the industrial design student Leetal Rivlin has managed to capture the movement of sand in another way, by freezing it into a unique bowl. Hand made by mixing the grains of sand with an adhesive, the sand bowl not only features several layers outside to assimilate the movement of sand, but is durable enough to last a long time as decorative articles.

20111117016

Babies are just naughty, and they never seem to obey what you tell them while still act in their own way: taking anything they get as toys and frequently throwing them away…… That’s enough, as here now comes some innovative tableware especially created for babies and kids. With a strong suction cup at the end, these bowls, spoons or forks can easily stick onto the tables so that your babies can never drop them on the floor. But as these gadgets may help parents a lot, they’re actually destroying your babies’ happiness of throwing their things anywhere, so really sorry to babies.

30-degree Slope Bowl

2011102006

Another design that we would say “why nobody has come up with it earlier”… It is the 30-degree Slope Bowl by HO Chang Da, who creates the gadget especially for people with trembling hands. With a 30 degree slope at one end, the bowl can still stand on table steadily even when your hands suddenly tremble.  Also, its wooden handle makes taking up hot bowl no longer a difficult thing. That’s so sweet!

Take Easy Bowls

Have to think to myself, what a simple but effective design! A bowl that has a wavelike base to ensure enough space for your fingers so that they’ll never get burned… and also, the special base allows the passage of air and maybe our soup will then get cool sooner. Essentially you’re using a bowl that can stand steadily on tables and there’s no need worrying about it turning over. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Although one person cannot be in two different places at one time, the Eclipse Steel Fruit Bowl could do so by dividing itself into two separate ones. Therefore you can use the Double Bowl in several ways: using the two bowls separately or slotting them together to create a new one. And no matter how you use the bowls, they look just fine on the tables. Really fantastic design! [Read the rest of this entry...]

‘Shark Soup’

20100112701

Sharks…well, how do sharks taste? Possibly you should have a bowl of shark soup. But don’t be too afraid, as the soup actually didn’t use sharks as its material but adopted a shark-shaped bowl to contain it. Though the bowl only has a tiny extra part than usual ones, its price is surprisingly high, and such a bowl costs 54Euro! OH MY GOD! I’d like to receive it as a gift from my buddies. A Bowl of Light

20100105801

Rice is a basic foodstuff for hundreds of millions people all around the world, especially the Asians. And during the dinning time, you’ll always find them hold a bowl of rice in their hands. For the Asians, a bowl of rice is not merely foodstuff to keep them alive but also a symbol of fulfillment that encourages them to work harder and harder.

Possibly inspired by that, Lo, Yu-Fen has designed the ‘Harvest’ light for Yii Collection. Shaped like a porcelain bowl with delicate patterns on its surface and tiny bits of light inside it, the decorative light is surely to bring a great change to your home. If possible, I’d like to get some home. [Read the rest of this entry...]
