“My Writing Desk” is a workplace put forward by Inesa Malafej, and honestly that’s something I’m looking for. It features a storage tough around three sides of the table top, thus keeps the writing surface clean while still makes the user’s things close at hand. Moreover, the high edges can protect your cellphones, cups or tablets form falling onto the ground, and that’s why it is deemed as “the safest writing table”.

This luxurious Bugatti Grand Prix Car Inspired Desk isn’t merely on paper, as you can actually see it in real life. Designed by Luzzo Bespoke, this furniture incorporates a retractable monitor, a height adjustment and self closing lockable drawers. What would tables be like in the next few years? Recently the Media Computing Group from Germany offered a possible answer with their BendDesk. It is a clever combination of common tables and computers, featuring a vertical display and a horizontal larger one. Frequently used devices like mouse, keyboard, paper-based documents and others are all built within the two areas, which promise an effective interaction with the users based on multi-touch technology.

This is a multifunctional piece of furniture named as ‘Also Chair’. It is an armchair that could be changed into a desk when you flip the chair for 90 degrees. Apart from that, there’s a bookcase- either behind the backrest or below the table surface- for you to put books. In order to let people live more and more comfortable, both the designers and manufactures are making an effort to create bigger beds, desks, shelves, chairs and so on. Yes, everything we’re using today is much bigger than before, but pity that the house we’re living in is not that big to contain so many large pieces of furniture. So what about the two-in-one furniture? It is a table, but also doubles a bed when unfolded onto the floor. As a result, you’re still enjoying the comfortable life those large beds and tables bring to you, but no longer have to be upset about the crowded space. Sounds great, right?

There is nothing wrong about having a hectic but fulfilling work life. But what about living a lazy life? We usually call those people couchpotatoes or lazy bones, but whether you admit it or not, lazy people do encourage the designers to think up some wonderful ideas, including the multifunctional PC Stand. It has three joints which all promise a 360-degree rotation on the mechanical arm, and therefore allowing you to adjust the stand into any angles, from 0 to 90. As a result, you can either sit in a sofa or lie on the bed to use your PC. It is available in various colors, such as black, red, golden, and blue.

Well, the desk seems to have ‘lost weight’, compared with other desks we’ve been using, it’s really slim. But that won’t change its functions much. On the front part is a drawer for pens, files, etc. And on the back is a container, where you can place your PC, cables, or any other electronic gadgets.

I’ve guessed that Daniel Rybakken is definitely a guy that loves the nature too much to design this table. Nothing particular at the first glance, but you’ll change that view the moment you notice the sunlight and shade on the ground, which still exist even in a cloudy day. Yes, to make you feel always surrounded by sunlight, the designer has built a lamp inside the desk.

But as for me, I would like a desk with high organization, just like the ‘Organized Mess’ Desk designed by Jun Yasumoto. Yes, its most-attracting feature is organization!
