Low-cost Solar Paint

Quite soon in the future we’ll be using solar paint on our houses to harvest energy to power the household electricity, as researchers from the University of Notre Dame have developed low-cost solar paint using nano-sized particles of titanium dioxide, coated with cadmium sulfide or cadmium selenide. Once brushed onto any conducting materials and exposed to the sunlight, the paint will then create electricity with a light-to-energy conversion efficiency of 1%. Even though its efficiency isn’t high enough, the researchers are still trying to improve it, so as to make the solar paint both low-cost and high-efficiency for household use.

Not because I’m not clever enough, but in fact it is all because the door handles are not clever enough, since they cannot show us the directions clearly. Innovative Dustbin by Brendan Ravenhill

Dustpan, trashcan and broom are three necessary things for household cleaning. For quite a long time, they’re designed and used separately, until Brendan Ravenhill’s dustbin that integrated them together. In this design, the dustpan also serves as the lid of a trashcan, subtly attaches onto the top of the trashcan and moves for you to use.  The beech wood brush can hang on side of the bin with embedded rare earth magnets, thus making it easy and clean for storage.
