What could possibly go wrong? A red cloud appeared outside the car’s exhaust pipe as the vehicle roared away.

Actually these clouds are plastic car accessory designed by Amateur Human to display a car’s carbon emissions. Embedded with a series of lights, the cloud “Puff” will change into different colors according to the exhaust levels of the cars, green for the lowest and red for the highest. The system also allows the drivers to see the levels of their cars when connected to an iPhone, which can even track the data over time.

We people, especially the women, are used to taking all kinds of items in one big bag for emergency needs. But the actual situation is that, we seldom find the needed object quickly simply because the interior of the bag is too dark. So to solve that problem, Nicole Osella has come up with an innovative bag light named as “Bulbo”, which utilizes LED bulbs to illuminate the bag. It features an ergonomic structure and therefore can be used in any type of bags. The metal ball outside the bag is used to create kinetic energy to charge the battery that powers the LED bulbs.

You think I might be mistaken, right? Because the trees do not need any decorative leaves at all, they have an inborn ability to grow leaves. But for the dark nights when trees seem to be leafless, they may need these ‘etree’ lighting design by Coen Hoogstraten. These decorative leaves are made from electroluminescent materials, which will produce light when connected to electric current. The wires that power the leaves are strengthened, enabling the users to bend them into different shapes.

Are you dissatisfied with your current wall lamps? Well, what if you could just leave the lamp set into the wall when not using it and switch it on via simple motion? That’s what Kasper Salto and Thomas Sigsgaard have worked out for the Mindcraft 10 exhibition held by Danish Crafts in Milan. Named as “Yellow Fin”, the minimal lamp features two arms and a round head. To turn on the lamp, you need to pull the two arms out of the wall one after another. Its head is adjustable, enabling you to focus the beam in a desired direction.

Infectious Light is a modular lighting system made up of several battery-run light bulbs that could sense and react to each other. These bulbs gotta light up one by one when you bring the “mother” light closer to the “baby” lights, and the project takes the very name “Infectious Light” simply from that act.

The designer has also created a kind of luminous tree for these soft spheres, to solve the problem of charging.

Too bad this thing doesn’t come with any price details, but we’ve already seen that these stylish and cute lights would give your homes a refreshing look.

It consists of wood panels that can be folded up to expose the energy-efficient electroluminescent lights embedded in them. Compared with ordinary bulbs, the new one can distribute light in all directions, but costing less energy. It consumes 9-W of energy, amounting to a 77% savings compared to 40-W incandescent. By installing LED lights inside the recyclable plastic pegs, designer Natalia Romanova has come up with a new kind of light equipment, the ‘Light Peg’. When getting charged on the tree for 30 minutes or so, these pegs could serve as book lights or shelf lights for 4-5hours. Or you can simply leave them on the tree, to create a unique and romantic decoration for your living rooms.
