Magic Mirror Displays Your Insides

20120202019

With its concept and technology becoming more and more widely accepted and used, the augmented reality technology has already been adopted by designers and scientists to create something unique, just like this “Mirracle” project. Led by researchers from Technical University of Munich, the project is actually an updated version of the interactive mirror systems that display tomography images virtually on the body of the person who was scanned, and it now turns out “more intuitive and easy to use”.

Interactive OLED Mirror

20111202001

Cleverly combining light and shadow together, the giant OLED mirror collaborated by rAndom International and Chris O’Shea would feel the human’s movement and thus to interact in the term of either light or mirrors. Stand still, and the panels act like mirrors, but when you’re on the move, the OLED pixels then light up. The other interacting type is totally different, as wherever you go would become mirrors with the left parts still act as light. It’s very magical, and now the You Fade to Light has been produced in a limited edition of just eight units, each is selling for €140,000. So if you don’t think it’s exciting enough to watch them in the video, you may consider getting home one such piece.

What will you do if you have a magic mirror as those you see in books or films? There maybe many answers to that question, but there’s at least one thing we’ll all want to do: to illustrate what we desire on it. Round Round Land Cup

Probably inspired by most people’s habit of spinning a cup when they enjoy coffee or tea, designers have endowed this round-round-land cup with two layer saucers so that the cup would seem to move too while the upper saucer is spun. After that, something magical and interesting will then happen: the cup creates a merry-go-round effect as the images on the saucer are reflected onto platinum coated mirrors of the cup. Awesome Mirrored Benches

20100920301

Who would ever dare to sit on a piece of mirror, which is usually believed too brittle? Obviously the Japanese dare to do so. At the Towada Art Centre in Japan, there’re several mirrored benches standing beneath cherry trees for the visitors to sit on. When the cherry trees were in full blossom, these chairs will also look quite beautiful. And to tell you the truth, these chairs are not made from mirror but stainless steel so you needn’t worry about your safety. [Read the rest of this entry...]

20100108901

Some of us just adore the odd stuff. Please correct me if you think I’m wrong! Just look at the mirrored shoes, they’re obviously another products meant for the most weird of your grocery lists. Take the stairs!

20091225701

Nobody but those who are really too slim (but will any females feel themselves too slim?) may want to put on fat, and they look into any mirrors nearby to make sure that they look good. However, if they find themselves look a bit fatter in one of those mirrors, and then they’ll work hard at losing weight.

Hmmm, I have to say, Sunghee Park really knows better of those people, and therefore he put up a two-screen set of mirrors near the elevator. In that way, whenever they see a distorted figure of a fat person taking elevators in one mirror while a slim person taking the stairs in the other, people will surely take the stairs.

Oh, wait, there’s better! The displays could also be used to host advertisements when they turn idle. [Read the rest of this entry...]
