Argus One Airship Design

Argus One, named after the Greek god Argus who was the all seeing god with one hundred eyes, is a new airship design that features automated control for individual body modules so as to improve its flight stability and aerodynamic control. Besides, the Argus One has come with other characteristics too, e.g. it can be easily assembled and tactically launched in hours from virtually anywhere; it has a several day endurance capability and it can keep working in rigid weather conditions too.

Three Dimensional Cube Kite

What’s this, a huge cube? Of course it is, but it’s exactly also a three dimensional kite formed by 1,700 3D printed connected segments. It seems extremely bulky, but can actually levitate steadily due to its lightweight composition of carbon fiber rods and cubenfibre aerospace fabric.

Breeze Rack

Any good idea about towel racks? To redesign their shapes, coat them with unique colors or endow them with new functions? Of course the last one is our option, so why not have a look at this Breeze Rack, a 2011 red dot design concept winner? It’s a multifunctional towel rack, serving as a hair drier, a bathroom ventilator and a sterilizer except for hanging towels. In other words, almost everything you would need to use in a bathroom can be found in the Breeze Rack, isn’t that great?!

Nakagin Capsule Tower Building

What will the futuristic architecture look like? Japan-based Kisho Kurokawa’s “Nakagin Capsule Tower Building” may offer us some inspireations. Put forward in 1972, the tower building was constructed of 140 individual pods that could be changed and moved freely, thus to create a modular building with full functions. In the designer’s assumption, the 140 pods should get replaced about every 25 years so that the whole building could have a 200 year life span.  To let many more people get in a close touch with the “Nakagin Capsule Tower Building”, Kurokawa recently showcased one pod at the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo, in which the visitors would find a full-furnished house for temporary living.
