Located in Dresden, Germany, the small colorful house is built with some funnels on the wall and they’ll create charming (really?!) musical sound whenever the rain comes.  Due to that interesting and unique idea, the wall is also one of the most enjoyable attractions in Dresden’s student district in the new town.

Life is music, thus we all love symphony instead of monotony. Keeping that in mind too, a Dutch designer Jeriel Bobbe has created the ‘Suitcase Symphony’ using several rearrangeable wooden panels that each features a ridged surface, to take the place of monotonous floor in airports. Assembled together, the panels will produce a particular music composition as people pulling their suitcases through on them. Even though the music created by these panels is not that fabulous as those produced by an instrument, it indeed sounds more pleasant than the monotony of airports.

Audio Wrap is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a bag wrapped with flexible speaker on the surface, allowing the users to enjoy music in a more convenient and fashionable way. Keaton Music Typewriter is a practical machine that can type on a sheet of paper lying flat under the typing mechanism. It was firstly patented in 1936 by Robert H. Keaton, and at that time the machine had merely 14 keys. In 1953, Robert redesigned the typewriter and built with 33 keys, making it more ideal and suitable to use. It was marketed in the 1950s and sold for around $225, and now it appears on the market again, with a surprisingly high price of $5,895.

Quite surprisingly that sand can dance to create an awesome kind of art, with the aid of vibrations. Not long ago, LG developed a MCV904 Mini System that removes the voices from any music and lets the users to sing instead. As a result, every common person can become the singer of Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga’s music. It’s a cool system and of course needs a cool idea to take it to more people. So the designers built a small mirror over the real singer’s picture and replaced the customers as the lead singer when they look at the CD. The action lasted for 7 days in 6 CD stores, successfully reaching about 25,000 people while costing only 2 cents per impact.

What if your glass windows can work as speakers? That sounds really amazing, right? But before that, you should firstly learn something about the “Glass Speaker”. Measuring four feet tall and weighing 80 pounds each, the transparent speaker can produce a full 360° of sound and that’s about as perfect as other speakers. So how does the speaker work? According to the folks from Greensound, the base of each speaker can vibrate and the different areas of the glass slabs can create different frequencies of sounds, and hence a 360° of sound is produced. As mentioned above, you may one day see the window act as a speaker, too. Let’s just wait and see.

If you think only certain instruments like the guitars and pianos could clearly show us how music is played, then let me correct you because the Noteput Music Table can perform that task as well as the instruments, or even better. It is an interactive musical device, allowing you to see, to hear and to feel the music simultaneously. The musical table employs the camera-based marker tracking, which could identify each note and their positions. So music (or sound) would then be created and heard as you place the musical notes onto the table. The notes could be played by using the sound of different instruments.

The designers always know clearly what we’ll want, and they’ve come up with the products already before we consumers realize our needs. Just look at the Music Drop Mp3 Player, it’s obviously another product meant for “unexpected pleasure”. It adopts a projection system to take the place of traditional LCD screens and therefore allows the users to check out relevant information on their hands, the paper or even walls. Light-weight, portable, personalized-shape and an easy way to use, all those advantages make the player a ‘most-needed product’ on our grocery list.

But pity that it is only a concept at present and hopefully we could see this practical concept hit the marketplace soon in the future.

So you’ll need the ‘Altec Lansing Mini’, a practical mini speaker that creates a 360-degree sound field and therefore allows you to share perfect music with your buddies all the time.

It is applicable to any players with a 3.5mm audio port and powered by a built-in rechargeable lithium battery. And the point I love most is the interesting way to turn on the speaker and adjust its volume, which is all controlled by a simple twist. Erez Bar Am is a recent graduate from the Shenkar College and his latest piece of work is the ‘Radio Active’ that is made through plastic injection molding. But what really makes the radio different and distinctive is the special way to control it. No matter you’d like to turn up the volume or change the station, you’ll have to pull out its strings and fix them on those bases fixed onto the wall. Yes, you’ve guessed right, ‘Radio Active’ is a radio that asks you to do some physical exercises when listening to the music.

Well, I like that! The ocarina here points us another feature of iPhone, that is, blows to produce music. A wonderful idea, right? But to turn the phone into an ocarina, you firstly have to get two more iPhones and a fixer (a laser cut body, for example). Totally three iPhones! OMG, no wonder the iPhone Ocarina is deemed as the most expensive one all around the world.

If I were you, I would feel hesitant to wear the Dancepants Kinetic Music Player. Not that it’s heavy or ugly, but you have to keep in motion to have the MP3 player work. In other words, the player is powered by the kinetic energy generated during your motion, and the farer you run, the longer the player works. Then, how long will you wish it to work?
