Nokia never ceases to surprise us and recently the famous brand announced the Nokia E-Cu concept phone, a new mobile designed by Patrick Hyland that can convert body heat into electric energy using a copper exterior and a thermo-generator integrated interior. That means you’ll never need to take along a charger with you when the concept cell phones come into real ones one day, and hopefully we needn’t have to wait for too long a time.

Researchers at Nokia Research Center unveiled the ‘Mobile Radar’ during “Demo House 2010″. Using the same technology adopted by the police to give you a ticket for speeding, the device could measure an object’s distance, speed and direction. Therefore, you can control your cellphone via simple gestures without touching it. For example, you only need to wave your hands in front of your phone if you want to adjust its music player’s volume. Check out the video below to see how the ‘Mobile Radar’ is used.

The conceptual cellphone from Nokia is achieved by a young Chinese designer, Daizi Zheng. Different from usual mobiles powered by lithium battery, the eco-friendly phone adopts bio battery (which generates electricity from carbohydrates) as the power source. Therefore you only need to buy a can of cola to power your phone when the battery dies out, and claimed by Daizi Zheng, “Bio battery has the potential to operate three to four times longer on a single charge than conventional lithium batteries”. So it would be nice to see this practical concept hit the marketplace soon.

Well-known for a sustainable use, Nokia has been widely popular all over the world. And the new product, a green phone that features a recyclable use, would make you love Nokia much more. Every part of the new phone is made from recycled Aluminum; A capacitive sensor is built onto the keyboard to simplify the phone; Electronic ink is adopted to display words so as to save more energy. In addition, the phone also uses silver-zinc batteries rather than the regular lithium batteries, to reduce electronic wastes.

Chinese is not simply combined by alphabets, so you can not get the translating service merely by looking up a dictionary. Recently, Nokia launched a new technology called shoot-to-translate allows you to get the translation only by shooting a picture.

This new concept named Morph is developed by Nokia Research Center (NRC) and the University of Cambridge (UK) which could transform in any shaped totally depending on the user. Thanks to the nanotechnology, this incredible idea is not merely a dream, it will come true in 7 years. Plus, this cellphone also comes with transparent electronics and self-cleaning surfaces.
