DIY Flight Simulator Motion Rig

20101120101

Admittedly not everybody has a chance to pilot a plane by himself, but at least we can try out the experience with a Moving Axis AirCraft Simulator. When you fly a virtual plane, the device will then tilt and shift as a real plane does. If you’d also like to build a similar one, you can check out the video below to see how Matt Thomas made this. Plane Hangers

20100809101

Chetan Sorab would like to share some playful thought with you adults who still want to enjoy the same fun of the kids. Or even more fun. The new designs are colorful cloth hangers that have the same shape of the early World War aircrafts, and therefore each of them features an ergonomic handle for the users to hang ties or scarves. Also, those handles enable the users to reach for and carry the hangers more easily. Smart, colorful, lightweight and durable, this cloth hanger is surely a playful alternative to store your clothes. Martin Jetpack: The World’s First Practical Jetpack

20100318301

Hey, guys, it’s time to wave goodbye to the airplanes which only offers you confined spaces and boring time, since the New Zealand-based Martin Aircraft Co. has provided us a cleverer alternative, the Martin Jetpack. Unveiled at the Experimental Aircraft Association’s 2008 Air Venture held in the US, the personal helicopter is deemed by the Federal Aviation Administration as “an experimental ultra-light airplane”. Moreover, the Martin Jetpack is also considered as the world’s first practical device. Though still called as a ‘jetpack’, the device actually uses a gasoline (premium) engine with two ducted fans to provide lift. Getting needed power from a full fuel tank, it could fly for about 30minutes, with a theoretical speed of 60 miles per hour. Wearing a price tag of $86,000, the first ten jetpacks will be put on the market this year.

20100202201

Creative Factor: A clever and proper utilization of waste material.

To those who have been in deep love with air travel, the Airplane Hotel at the Teuge Airport in Netherlands seems quite attractive. First-Class Pan Am Cabin in Garage

2009102932

Anthony Toth is a 42-year-old global sales director at United Airlines, and the biggest success in his past forty years, in my opinion, may be the vintage Pan Am first-class cabin built in his garage. It has cost Mr. Toth 20 years and 50,000 dollars to build a Pan Am cabin, which includes almost everything a plane in the late 1970s and 1980s, would have, such as pairs of red-and-blue reclining seats, original overhead luggage bins and a curved, red-carpeted staircase. In addition, Mr. Toth has built a few economy-class seats, too. And in the near future, wished Mr. Toth, his garage could be turned into a cabin museum.

Planes with ellipse wings

This is designed by Belarus aeronautical engineers. At first glance, you may think that this is just a weird thing without any utilitarian value. However, it is pretty useful. In addition to make the plane more sustainable, the air vortexes on the sides of the wings can increase its power by about 30%.

Foldable airplane

I bet you won’t believe that a man who can afford a private airplane will care about the tiny space of airplane storage. Maybe they do, however.

This foldable airplane is design for these weird millionaires. Because of the foldable wings, it can save much more room than a conventional private airplane. It is soooo cool. But I’m afraid that this guy will retract the wings while flying in the air, and then…OH, My God!
