Over one hundred years ago, the Wright brothers invented a practical flying machine that allows humans to fly like birds, and today Jarnos Smeets from Netherlands has created a Human Birdwings that makes us not only fly like birds, but look more like them. These wings seem interesting, composing of an HTC Wildfire S, a Wii remote and something else to be controlled by a person’s waving of his arms as if to fly. But currently the project is still under experiment, requiring further development to turn them into real wings that can help human to fly.
Time to enjoy a totally different way of photography! Dubbed “Mmi”, the screenless camera can interface with your smartphones to take photos or shoot videos. It comes with a built-in kickstand, an insertable suction cup and magnetic connector, thus you can mount it on a tripod, on the window or other places to get it ready for use. Via an app on cellphones, you can then remotely control the camera, adjust the shooting settings, and conveniently upload your photos or videos to the web.
Scientists from Osaka University applied the augmented reality technology into real life and developed this wearable “Parasitic Humanoid” system that allows people to directly guide the hands of others even at a far-away distance. The guidance system is composed of three parts, including a head-mounted display, a Panasonic laptop and an HD camera. Nest is a new thermostat put forward by Tony Fadell, who used to work in Apple Inc. and brought us with the iPod. Designed to be a smart thermostat that can learn about your schedule of changing the temperature and thus makes temperature adjustments based on that, the Nest comes with a stylish metal body, a touchscreen as well as a rolling wheel controller. It features a energy-saving modes like Auto-Away™ and Energy History too, so as to help the consumers reduce down their electricity consumption.
The “Sphero” is the world’s first robotic ball that can be controlled by an iPhone or Android device. It comes with a semi-opaque white look, along with an inductive charger to reenergize it. The users simply need to load down certain free apps for the ball, open the Bluetooth of their iPhones, and then they can control the ball to accomplish certain tasks.
