Time to make a change, within 12 to 24 months Tech Company Senseg will release “Feelscreens” to take the place of “touchscreens”. But currently shown to us is still a prototype tablet, which allows the users to feel like they’re touching something textured as they touch the flat screen. The tech is mainly based on an electrostatic-field-based system that makes different parts of the screen to produce varying degrees of friction, so that anything displayed on the screen may send a real touching feel to users.

Composed of gesture recognition software connected with a 3D depth sensor, a real time 3D video capture module using a 3D video camera and interactive graphic generation software based on a game engine, the 3D AR screen showcased by Aniframe can not only create 3D images but interact with the users. It can recognize and track the gesture of users, allowing them to “draw” images in 3D space. After showing the visual contents via a 3D TV, the system can help the users to browse its 3D contents using their own hand gestures such as tapping and scrolling.

A metal for measuring, leveling, or straightening is something well-developed that no more needs any improvements. But a newly launched gadget takes the whole thing to a new level.

Dubbed “Smart String”, the device comes with 50 feet of 20 pound string that can easily wrap around objects or measure along curve roads. But much cleverer design lies on its screen, which automatically displays the measured distance to 3 decimal places of accuracy. It also gets a built-in calculator for you to recall any 3 measurements stored in its memory. To sum up, this is almost the best fully-functioning measuring tape we can ever get.
