Surely we don’t need to take a canoe all the time, but if we could do that, why not? This Foldable Canoe designed by Ori Levin is rightly a portable one that can shrink down to fit into a bag. It weighs about 4.1 kilos, lightweight enough to ensure an easy transportation. It is also easy to be assembled, costing the users merely 5 minutes to get the boat finished.

Sinking Boat?!

Please do not search for any on-line news about recent shipwrecks before you finish with the article, because you’ll soon find this seemingly sunken ship is actually a leisure boat specially designed by Julien Berthier. It is made up of a 21-inch sailboat while looks much cooler than that. Dubbed “Love Love”, the Sinking Boat is “the permanent and mobile image of a wrecked ship that has become a functional and safe leisure object”, just as Julien Berthier has ever described. “SeaKettle” Life Saving Gadget

It is reported that lack of fresh and clean drinking water is the main reason why most people died at the sea. So to solve that problem, designers have come up with the SeaKettle that has an incorporated desalination process to produce clean water for drinking. The desalination process pumps sea water into the reservoir, let the water evaporate under the sunlight, and then the condensation process will start, and about 3 liters of fresh water will be collected for drinking. The Largest Solar-Powered Boat on the Earth

Created at the Knierim Yacht Club in northern Germany, PlanetSolar is the world’s largest solar-powered boat, measuring 31 meters x 15 meters x 7.5 meters. The yacht is covered with up to 500 sqm of solar panels, which are expected to capture 103.4 kW of solar energy to power the engine that merely needs 20KW. Designed with an average speed of about 9mph, the boat could reach a top speed of 17 miles per hour. About 18 million euro has been invested into the project. According to Knierim Yacht Club, the yacht has been ready for testing later this month and the sea trials (due between June and September).
