PumPing Tap is a 2011 red dot design concept winner, which can cleverly solve the problem of wastage of electricity by automatically ejecting a plug when the appliance is switched off. About ten minutes later after you’ve turned your device off but haven’t unplugged it, the socket will then eject the plug, so as to completely cut off the electricity.

Wind Up Socket by Dongwon Joo & Jieun Choi

20100310301

I am the kind of person who seldom remembers to unplug the devices when they’re fully charged, so you can imagine how much I’ve paid to the electric power bureau. Pity that it is only a concept at present and we may wait for days to see the practical product hit the market. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Cute Cube Socket

20100106301

I have a question to ask you: how many plugs you can actually insert to the same board at one time even though the socket is designed to accommodate six to eight plugs? Haven’t you found that you can never make full use of the socket since the plugs and chargers are produced in different shapes? Of course, if you’re using the Cute Cube socket, you won’t be bothered by that question because the cube-shaped socket is capable of accommodating six plugs. Still including indicator lights and rotatable jacks, the socket also allows you a convenient use it in the dark. [Read the rest of this entry...]
