Lamp with the Bulb turned upside down

20100301301

Obviously the bulb that is equipped upside down has drawn everybody’s attention on the first sight. That’s quite distinctive, compared with conventional lamps. Even so, the part I love most is not that, but the adjustable design enabling the users to change the lamp into different shapes. Yups, the weird lamps also double as interesting toys. Just imagine how many kinds of animals the lamps could perform… [Read the rest of this entry...]

Bop Lamp

20100126601

You think table lamps are too boring? You won’t think so after checking out the Bop Lamp. Apparently, Baita Bueno has drawn an inspiration from the classic toy ‘Bop Bags’ and endows the lamp with a similar shape. The most interesting part is the design of concrete ballast on the bottom enabling one to set the lamp into motions while using it as a light. It is made from injection molded ABS thermoplastic. Cosmonaut Lamp

20100118801

We’ve seen a lot of funny lamp concepts, but the Cosmonaut Lamp may be the least elegant one. It’s a lamp with a bulb on its head and looks like an astronaut ready to land on space. The wildest part about the lamp is that it uses fewer wires but mainly polymer clay instead. And inspired by the Cosmonaut Lamp, the designers may come up with more clay lamps that are shaped like a puppy, an E.T. or something else. [Read the rest of this entry...]

You think table lamps are too boring? So what about attacking your workmates with them during the break time? That sounds funny, right? Measuring 13.75 inches tall, the lamp could illuminate your whole desk when powered by the force via the USB. And when you feel like having fun with your buddies, just remove it from the base and you can then start another ‘Star War’. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Mr. Ed is merely a shelf light that helps you read clearly.

20091228401

To show his respect to the inventor of the incandescent light bulbs, Thomas Edison, Roderik Vos named the lamp here as ‘Mr. Ed’. It is a lamp that comes with two books as its stands, and therefore looks quite different from usual ones. You’ve guessed right, the lamp is merely designed to act as a shelf light that helps you read clearly, rather than a table lamp that suits any conditions. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Lamps aim to bring you with more light, but Katherine Semenko’s lamp does exactly the opposite.

20091217101

Everybody knows clearly why Thomas Alva Edison invented the electric lights, that is, to bring light to the night. If it has not been for the energy-conservation, lamps are generally expected to bring more and more light to our world. However, Katherine Semenko doesn’t think so. A lamp, in his opinion, should give out enough light while not irritating the user’s eyes. And that’s why Katherine Semenko has come up with the interesting new lamp, which provides less lighting than usual ones. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Criminal Desk Lamp, in memory of Michael Jackson

20091210201

What the ‘King of Pop’ Michael Jackson has left us is far more than the concerts, the music, the dance, or a trend. Seriously, it is his loyalty to art, his constant pursuit of art that we treasure most. And to show our respect to Jackson, designer Maleville has come up with a lamp by the name of “Criminal Desk Lamp” to duplicate Jackson’s dancing gestures. As a result, when turning on the lamp, you can simply tilt down the white hat while lift it up to turn the light off. [Read the rest of this entry...]
