Yes, I know most telescopes on the market are much more elegant than the one presented here, but you know why we decided to introduce it to you guys?

It is because the story of making the telescope has deeply moved us. A man who had never attempted wood-working before made the telescope all by hands for his wife and it is the deep love for her that drove him on to complete the project. So it must have been very difficult for him to DIY such a special gift and his wife is really lucky to have so nice a husband.

Balloon Telescope

Researchers from NCAR, NASA and other international research organizations are cooperating for a project named Sunrise, which could provide the best image of Sun.

A recent test flight launched from New Mexico provided support for the concept. Dangling from a balloon larger than a 747 airliner, a solar telescope soared to 120,000 feet before snapping pictures of the sun.
