Your Clock, Your Time

20111114006

You’re rightly the person that controls your own time, no matter how fast or slow the real time passes… That sounds sweet and nice, and that’s why I love the idea of “Your Clock” put forward by Breadedescalope Design Studio. Simply by offering a cord, the clock allows the users to control the passage of time: the timepiece will hold time still until you pull the cord to let the numbers flip.  So what do you think? Check out the video below to see a more wonderful world “Your Clock” may soon bring to you.

Clever LEGO Clock

20111101001

Time is a mystery, while Hans Andersson’s LEGO Clock makes time more complex and mystical. Named as “Time Twister”, the Rubik’s Cube-esque LEGO Clock is constructed with two Mindstorm, five motors and black and white LEGO bricks. When switched on, the blocks will then be rearranged to display the time by communicating through Bluetooth. As the designer offers no detail about its basic principles, I still don’t why and how the clock works. So if you know, hopefully you can share it with us.

IQ Alarm Clock

20110228501

Alarm clocks are wonderful devices, and among them Oliver Sha’s IQ Alarm Clock is obviously the best. It has no snooze button, but instead you have two choices to make the clock stop ringing: one is to answer 1 to 3 questions, and the other is to press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. So what will your choose, the former method or the latter one? [Read the rest of this entry...]

ORBO Watches, Cute Fat Watches.

Basic RGB

A series of watches designed by Zach Weiss to indicate time, temperature, weather and other information with eye-catching round hours hand and seconds hand. Plus, these watches also feature maximum simplicity and functionality, making them more attractive than other kinds of timepieces. Pity that the ORBO series is merely a concept at present and we’ve no information when they’ll hit the market. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Melting Clock

20110120101

In the famous painting “Eternal Memory”, Salvador Dali has demonstrated us a weird world with melting clocks hanging on branches and the edge of desks. And now those Melting Clocks have gone out that virtual world and ready to enter your daily life. So will you take them home? [Read the rest of this entry...]

Edison Alarm Clock

20110112401

The Edison Alarm Clock, although involves the great scientist Thomas A. Edison, actually is an innovative work by David Krawczyk. But the designer does have drawn some inspirations from Edison, and eventually he used electrical current to control the clock: the alarm will be turned on when you insert the bulbs into desired time slots, and the timepiece will be illuminated at the same time. Isn’t that fantastic? Edison will surely love the design too. [Read the rest of this entry...]

An Alarm Watch

20110109501

Even though we’ve already had cellphones with built-in alarms, we seldom have a watch that doubles an alarm. Except for the “An Alarm”. What makes the watch special is that it gives a vibration on the wrist instead of sound. Isn’t that cool? You’ll never miss any dates. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Domino Clock

20101216501

Modern clock designers try to arouse us from deep sleep in a way that will give the users more surprise or freshness. And the Domino Clock features three dominoes that communicate wirelessly to display the time. “The numbering scheme on dominoes and dice developed as a way to represent numbers that’s immediately recognizable, so in a lot of ways it makes perfect sense to use it as a time piece,” explains Sullivan. But before you get the time accurately, you’ll firstly need to spend some time getting used to its unique way of telling the time. Clock for an Architect

20101209701

In form the clock designed by Daniel Weil of Pentagram is something like a spinning-wheel, but it’s actually a digital one running on single AA battery. It also tells time in a different way, displaying minutes on the outside and hours on the inside of a nickle-plated ring. So you think the clock is quite special, right? Hopefully the architect who would receive it as a gift would love it too. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Manifold Clock

20101104201

Who says hour hand and minute hand of one same clock must be seperated? They can have certain connections, just like the Manifold Clock that features two hands connected to create a 3D movement. Thank you Studio Ve, that’s really impressive. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Flower Clock

20101030201

Compared with regular wall clocks that are named as “Flower Clock”, the new one from Rafael Assandri seems more worthy of the name. Each petal here indicates five minutes, and a new petal will begin to expand whenever a new hour begins. Therefore with the flower blooming and fading and then another hour goes by. The World’s First Biodegradable Paper Watch

20101028201

Apparently Geneva-based Altanus has resulted in a world-wide revolution of timepieces after they announced to own the world’s first biodegradable paper watch “Patch”. Available in 10 neon colors, the Patch features a simple LED ticker and it is degradable in nature, therefore leaving little prints to the environment when the timepiece is no longer needed. Farmland Alarm Clock

20101018201

Another day waking up on the farmland, with the shrill cry of a cock… But actually I’m still lying in my bed, which is of course in my apartment located inside the city. So how could I wake up on a farmland? All the secret lies in the Farmland Alarm Clock, which uses moos, baas and clucks to make you back from the sweet dreams. And to have the alarm stop ringing, you’ll need to slot the corresponding animal in above the large LCD display. Just have a try. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Watch Diary

20101004201

Some designs are so fundamentally perfect that there’s little need in improving them. Taking notebook as an example, the properties of paper sheets are nice and the plain patterns are also okay. But that’s still not enough to deter Wonjune Song, who has come up a new diary that features a clock set in the middle of the pages. The clock has three different hands to indicate your different tasks: red for the current task, the “before hand” for past affairs and the “forward hand” for the upcoming ones. Well, that’s really a useful book for those who always have to deal with various tasks. [Read the rest of this entry...]
