On the Tokyo Motor Show Toyota has unveiled its Fun-Vii concept, a futuristic vehicle that allows the drivers to change the exterior design “with the same ease as downloading an application”. But that’s not all, because the Fun-Vii also features magical exterior display technology that lets drivers to display information on any places inside the car. To make the Fun-Vii more functional and attractive, the car can even be customized, with many themes and an augmented reality function taking place of the traditional navigation system.

This is a new kind of safety belt that incorporates an air bag and you’ll soon see it in Toyota’s Lexus LFA luxury sports cars. When inflates in a collision, the seat belt will offer you a more safer protection so that you can be kept away from high risks of hurt.

How should car manufactures promote their new products, when nowadays they have to face more and more competitions? Possibly you’ll soon have an answer after seeing what Los Angeles-based Nondesigns has done to help promote Lexus compact hybrid, CT 200h. The studio created an awesome pixilated Lexus, using 2500 anodized aluminum bars lacquered with blue green on one side and yellow mica on the opposite. All of them were cut into specific lengths and inserted into their locations in the illuminated platform, therefore creating a stylish car that features a glowing effect of colors on its surface. More importantly, the viewers would experience a gradual change in color from gold to organic-blue when they walk around the car. As a result, everyone that has seen the new Lexus will be deeply impressed and we bet most of them would also want to own one.

Segway has been very popular all over the world. But Japan’s moto giant Toyota expect to release a new similar product named Winglet to compete with Segway.

Although the top speed of winglet, which comes with three sizes, is only 3.7MPH (versus the Segway’s 12.5 MPH) it is enough for the indoor traffic and is expected to be very popular.

Drowsy driving is fairly dangerous, thus, there’re more and more safety systems in vehicles. However, I bet you haven’t seen a system like this.

This innovative system from Toyota comes with a camera located on dashboard. It can judge whether a driver need a rest by measuring whether a driver’s eyes are properly open. It could issuing a warning to the driver when you feel drowsy.

In order to analyze driving characteristics and so develop improved active safety technology, Toyota has developed this new driving simulator. It uses a hemisphere-shaped container to hold the car and display all the virtual video at the interior. Plus, the hemisphere could moving the within a large area to provide better driving experience.
