Jayne Vidheecharoen from the Art Center College of Design, California has invented a machine that converts your physical hands into virtual ones, so as to help you control the virtual world directly. Just as shown in the video, the prototype of the technology uses Google Streetview as its background, with various objects of the Streetview that are controlled by people’s hand. Though quite amazing, the prototype model is actually constructed with really cheap components such as a duct tape, a desk lamp, an end table, fabric scrap, a borrowed monitor and a cheapest possible webcam, as the designer listed on her blog.

The main reason why I don’t play Ping Pong is that I can barely touch the ball with my bat. Paris Orly airport are now hiring some new types of agents to greet and guide customers to their boarding gates. These agents are not real people, but human shaped plexiglasss ilhouettes with illusions projected on them. They always have smiles on their faces, warmly direct everyone that needs help, while never perform impolitely to people. But not everybody sees these agents loves the idea, so the airport will evaluate the experiment at the end of this year, to decide whether or not to use them instead of electric displays.

Lately launched iPad 2 has made everyone to be concerned with tablet computers again, and most people are wondering if this new product can continue the sage of iPad 1. Or how could iPad 2 start another new era? John Leung put forward his concept of the iPad 2 Window- a virtual window design.

He assumes that if one networks four iPad 2, he can then “have a decent-sized display with the illusion of criss-crossing frames”. More importantly, the iPad 2-with its front-facing camera, a specially designed App and a powerful A5 processor- can track the user’s face and adjusts the view accordingly. Isn’t that exciting? If such a concept will finally come into reality, the iPad will undoubtedly become beyond a personal tablet.
