You’re rightly the person that controls your own time, no matter how fast or slow the real time passes… That sounds sweet and nice, and that’s why I love the idea of “Your Clock” put forward by Breadedescalope Design Studio. Simply by offering a cord, the clock allows the users to control the passage of time: the timepiece will hold time still until you pull the cord to let the numbers flip. So what do you think? Check out the video below to see a more wonderful world “Your Clock” may soon bring to you.

Modern clock designers try to arouse us from deep sleep in a way that will give the users more surprise or freshness. And the Domino Clock features three dominoes that communicate wirelessly to display the time. “The numbering scheme on dominoes and dice developed as a way to represent numbers that’s immediately recognizable, so in a lot of ways it makes perfect sense to use it as a time piece,” explains Sullivan. But before you get the time accurately, you’ll firstly need to spend some time getting used to its unique way of telling the time.

Who says hour hand and minute hand of one same clock must be seperated? They can have certain connections, just like the Manifold Clock that features two hands connected to create a 3D movement. Thank you Studio Ve, that’s really impressive.

The sun rises in the east and sets in the west everyday to indicate the changes of light; the spring, summer, autumn and winter rotate to indicate the changes of seasons. And now, the 12 figures that indicate the hours emerge and disappear to tell us how the time elapses. Dubbed “Re-clock”, the time-telling device features no minutes but merely 12 hours, which are indicated via 12 figures that gradually appear on the layers of cloth-face from midnight to the noon while then disappear successively from the noon to the next midnight. Simply put, the Re-clock changes everyday, “from zero to something, and vice versa”.

You don’t know the exact answer? Well, neither do I, and that’s also a riddle for the visitors who saw it during the Toronto Design Week.

Returning to the clock itself, the cool timepiece is really cool for modern spaces. Even though its structure looks quite simple, the limited edition (20 pieces) wall clock is sold at $4000 (CAD)…So pricey…

Apart from telling you the accurate time, the Annular Eclipse Clock designed by Lee, Gimpo-si and Gyeonggi-do will also show you the process of total solar eclipse every day. How? Well, as you can see from the pictures, the transparent plate will gradually turn into opaquely dark from morning to the evening. The Annular Eclipse Clock also features two different ways to tell the time: during the daytime, it uses the two black spots to separately indicate the hour and minute while employs two shadows to show the time when in the night.

I don’t know about you, but the answer ‘clock’ never hit me when I firstly saw it. Got it? It is a wall clock by BGM project. Using the figures of a grandmother, a grandchild and a dog as its hour hand, minute hand and second hand, the clock presents us a sweet scene as time passes by: the whole family gradually walk through the forest, the open country and finally go back home. Wow, the clock just makes me feel homesick.

Almost all the digital watches nowadays show the time by electronically lit up numbers, e.g.22:20 and we have been quite accustomed to that. So what if a clock tells time in words, say, “It’s about three”? You feel a bit out of it?

Shaped like a towel rack, the innovative clock includes two parts. As you can see, on the left are sentences like ‘ten minutes past’, while on the right are numbers. And when you read the sentence from the left end, a complete sentence will tell the time, “It’s five past three”. Woo, really interesting, I’ll take one.

OMG, the clock seems so simple, yet it costs up to 2338 dollars!! The man who would buy such a clock must have gone crazy. So why, why is the clock so expensive? One reason may be its striking form. Different from others, Catena Wall Clock comprises a bicycle chain with twelve copper digits mounted on it, instead of traditional hands. Therefore, it is actually a clock that merely tells the hourly time.

See what? The “Onze Crazy O Clock” has pointed us a new way to active thinking. As the innovative clock asks us to perceive time rather than read time, it undoubtedly will cost you much mental work to calculate the exact time. Those who love mathematics are sure to love the clock.

On hearing the beautiful music of Chinese lute, we usually describe it as “pearls falling into a jade plate”, and now the bead clock can also remind us of that famous Chinese poem. When the clock works, two beads in different sizes will then brighten up to indicate the time. Be careful not to mix up the two beads! The bigger bead in the outer circle stands for the hour hand and the smaller one in the inner circle symbolizes the minute hand.

Similar to the sundial used in the ancient times, the light o’clock also applies the discipline of light but presents it in a different way. With luminous equipment built in it, this clock tells time through two distinct beams of light, which are seen as the hour hand and minute hand individually. At present, there’re kinds of colors for you to choose, such as black, white, blue, orange, pink, green, etc.

This is a real simple and cool clock. It uses a microcontroller to move to move a servo with a line laser connect to it. The result is a single line that can simply represent the time on the wall.

At first glance, this is merely a branch thing without any material usage. As a matter of fact, when you look at the branch from the top of it, you are gonna get the secret. It is actually a wall clock. The two branches are used to indicate hours and minutes separately. Although it is not so convenient, I guess that reading the time is not the main reason you buy it.

Most of us get time with eyes; the blind may need the other devices. Now, this clock designed by Hyun Choi can let us get time with nose. There is no hand on the clock but 12 capsules are hidden at the back of the clock. You can fill the capsules with different flavor and then you can get different flavor in different time. In other words, you can smell time. It’s magic.
