Good ideas in, good ideas out. It is compatible with your Android phone for call and text receiving, and weighs merely 35g for a comfortable wearing. The watch will soon be available in November, featuring an 8GB or 16GB of internal storage.

A series of watches designed by Zach Weiss to indicate time, temperature, weather and other information with eye-catching round hours hand and seconds hand. An Alarm Watch

20110109501

Even though we’ve already had cellphones with built-in alarms, we seldom have a watch that doubles an alarm. Except for the “An Alarm”. What makes the watch special is that it gives a vibration on the wrist instead of sound. Isn’t that cool? You’ll never miss any dates. [Read the rest of this entry...]

The World’s First Biodegradable Paper Watch

20101028201

Apparently Geneva-based Altanus has resulted in a world-wide revolution of timepieces after they announced to own the world’s first biodegradable paper watch “Patch”. Available in 10 neon colors, the Patch features a simple LED ticker and it is degradable in nature, therefore leaving little prints to the environment when the timepiece is no longer needed. Watch Diary

20101004201

Some designs are so fundamentally perfect that there’s little need in improving them. Taking notebook as an example, the properties of paper sheets are nice and the plain patterns are also okay. But that’s still not enough to deter Wonjune Song, who has come up a new diary that features a clock set in the middle of the pages. The clock has three different hands to indicate your different tasks: red for the current task, the “before hand” for past affairs and the “forward hand” for the upcoming ones. Well, that’s really a useful book for those who always have to deal with various tasks. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Referee Third Eye Watch Concept

20100706301

The England were struck by an injustice and they left the World Cup; Villa’s fourth goal of this World Cup was also a controversial one… you see, the miscarriage of justice has made referees no longer welcomed to the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Surely the referees didn’t do well enough during the football matches, but we should help them make objective decisions rather than merely blame them. And that’s why we love Andy Kurovets’ “Referee Third Eye Concept”. It is used to monitor the football game on the screen, alerting the chief arbiter of the player’s illegal actions by turning the relevant light into red. So what do you think of the “Referee Third Eye”? Will the device really help to ensure a fair match? [Read the rest of this entry...]

The World’s First Solar-powered Mechanical Watch.

20100325401

Developed by Cabestan Watches, ‘Sol Invictus’ is the first solar-powered mechanical timepiece around the world. It features the new iconic chain and fusée, drums and vertical tourbillon, and also adopts the silicium crystals as efficient solar cells to generate sufficient power.

Its inner system is rather sophisticated- two brushless motors are used for rewinding the movement and setting the time, as well as a miniature controller for regulating the motors’ speed and amplifying the electrical charge. The motors and the rechargeable lithium-ion batteries are positioned under the solar cells. But wearing a price tag of $560,000, will the timepiece really be that popular? Hmm…It remains to be seen. 4N Watch: A perfect combination of digital and mechanical watches

20100312501

The two common kinds of watches separately has their own advantages—digital watches tell us the exact time directly and clearly, while mechanical watches also double as fashionable accessories for success men. So what about combining them two together? Apparently, the result is the 4N watch. It features the quirky disc-based mechanism, which rotates the numbers to deliver the time as the digital watches do. Leaving aside its high-quality material and fine workmanship, simply the limited run of only 16 units has confirmed our speculation that the watch must be quite expensive! Mysterious Double Axis Tourbillon Watch

20100309301

You think the watch is merely an amazing concept? It’s real, coming from Thomas Prescher. All its components have been hidden in the bezel except the tourbillon, which is held in the middle of space by a single metal wire. The rotating cylinders at the top separately indicate the hours and minutes. Positioned between them is a spherical, moon phase calendar. At the bottom is also an interesting calendar—days on the left and months on the right. Integrated with a horizontal swinging oscillating weight based on gravity, the calendar would show you the dates no matter which side of the watch is held up. Also note that there’re two crowns, one for winding and the other for setting the time and calendar. [Read the rest of this entry...]

LED Watch from Tokyoflash: The crazier, the better

20100222201

Tokyoflash is a Japanese watch manufacturer that believes “the crazier, the better”. One of their unique design—’LED Watch’ may help you catch on that slogan better. It is the world’s first Morse Code Watch, featuring three modes for telling the time: Audio speaker sounding out the time in Morse Code, regular time display and Morse Code LED display. Taking the last time display for example, the LEDs will light up for three times to indicate the exact time. For the first time, each stripe on the display stands for ‘an hour’, for the second time, they means ‘ten minutes’, and for the last time, each of the stripe indicates ‘one minute’. So the watch shown in the picture below just tells “10:58″. You think that’s complicated? Surely it is to others, but not to the owners. [Read the rest of this entry...]
