20110906201

It is a matter of peculiar interest to purify rain water in places where are short of clean water, and the rain coat collaborated by Hyeona Yang and Joshua Noble is rightly a device that would help many people around the world. It seems like cape, with tall collars to collect rain water and built-in charcoal filters and a chemical purification system to make the water safe for drinking. After the water is purified, it will be stored around the shoulders and pockets of the coat. The coat also has some tubes so that people would conveniently drink the collected water at any time and any where. [Read the rest of this entry...]

“SeaKettle” Life Saving Gadget

20100728101

It is reported that lack of fresh and clean drinking water is the main reason why most people died at the sea. So to solve that problem, designers have come up with the SeaKettle that has an incorporated desalination process to produce clean water for drinking. The desalination process pumps sea water into the reservoir, let the water evaporate under the sunlight, and then the condensation process will start, and about 3 liters of fresh water will be collected for drinking. Weird Beetle In the Desert That Collects Water

20100710101

Kitae Pak designed the Dew Bank Bottle lately after being inspired by onymacris unguicularis, a beetle found in the Namibian desert. The beetle procures water in a unique way: it goes to the peak of the sand dune every morning, and uses its body to help in dew formation, making the dew enriched fog to provide enough water for drinking. The Dew Bank Bottle works in almost the same way as that beetle. Its steel body assimilates the morning dew, purifies the water and then stores it in the bottle.

The Dew Bank Bottle won the Bronze Prize at the Idea Design Awards 2010.

Each Bottle is A Water Purifier.

20100402301

321 — pronounced “three to one” — is a reusable water bottle, or more exactly a portable water purifier designed to provide clean water to travelers. The concept behind the simple name is quite impressive: three liters of water is required to manufacture merely one liter of bottled water, but you could save more water using the 321 Water. Besides, the product also helps to reduce the need of plastic bottles.

Designed by Gretha Oost, Paul Charlwood and Andrew Howley, the innovative water purification system is easy to use, all you have to do is to fill the bottle with tap water through a drip system and slot in the filter.

One filter can last 100 uses (about 50 liters) and it could be purchased separately. [Read the rest of this entry...]

Rain Water Filtering System

2009082630.jpg

Though I used to imagine that one day we could simply raise our heads up to drink water directly, I’ve never thought that day would come so soon. Named as “Sky Water”, the spacey looking device can collect rain water through the ring, filter it in the holding tank and then drive fresh water out from the bottom. It is really a good product that deserves our expectation over the years.
