The next generation of capsule camera is already here: a little cam developed by scientists from the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, which can work by receiving magnetic instructions from the MRI that steers a rudder like motor. As the device is wirelessly guided, it will then eliminate the need for an invasive tether guidance system and also reduce the discomfort of patients. It hasn’t been tested yet in the human body, but it has been tested in water, so we believe the human trials shouldn’t be far behind, and the day to use it will come soon.

The world’s first cloud-based LED lighting system was recently launched by Japan-based Net LED Technology Company. It’s called NetLED system, composed of LED tube with built-in Wi-Fi as well as a free NetLed app. After installing the NetLed app on your smartphone, tablets or other devices and replaced your lights with the NetLED tubes, you can then control individual, multiple, or a set of lights via the app: to dim the lights (each tube has 10 different dimming levels), to turn them on or off, or to track energy usage in real-time. Net LED says that when a company, for instance, installs 200 of these lights, its power consumption can be reduced down by up to 50%.

Belkin’s Wemo home automation system is a smart device that allows you to control the electrical outlets of your home via your smartphones or a motion sensor modular. The system is all based on Wi-Fi technology, comprising of a Home Control Switch and a Motion Sensor module, which function in different ways in fact. The Home Control Switch is a plug, which sits between the wall socket and plug from any electric device, to provide a programmable on / off switch that can be controlled by a smartphone or triggered by the company’s Motion Sensor. And the Motion Sensor, just as you may have guessed, is a wireless motion-sensitive switch that can sit anywhere to ensure the users an instant control of the electricity outlets.

Designer: Belkin

Selling Price: $49.99(Home Control Switch); $59.99(Motion Sensor module)

Why are designers so innovative? Almost every time I met some new designs I would ask myself that question. So you know, that question emerged again, after I accidentally saw the AudioBulb, Wireless Speaker Light Bulbs that bring both light and music to your home. It’s easy to use: simply replace ordinary bulbs with the AudioBulb, insert you iPod into the included dock, and then you’ll hear beautiful music coming from any places of your house. With warm light filled with your rooms, the AudioBulb is certainly the best thing related to the word “romantic”.

Even though the Apple Inc. has issued no keyboards for iPad or iPad 2, there’re actually many companies designing and launching wireless keyboards for iPad users. The Levitatr Keyboard is just one among them. It is merely 12mm high, with a smooth black surface when not in use. But once you switch it on, its keys then raise out and the backlighting turns on. Currently it’s a Kickstarter project, so we can only check out the video now to see how it works.

Epson’s new photo printer comes with a retro appearance design which seems to have drawn its inspiration from old computers once popular in 1970s or 1990s, but actually also features some modern technology as it is built with a wireless keyboard and a remote controller. However, the real element that makes the printer special is that the device prints out photos and postcards without needing to be connected to a computer.

It is compatible with common storage devices such as SDXC, microSDHC, xD –Picture, Memory Stick Pro and other kinds of flash memory cards. Once you plug certain storage cards into the printer, choose your favorite style from 1055 modes, add in some words with the wireless keyboard and then you can have delicate photos or postcards printed out. Epson has announced that the printer would be launched to Japan on 15th this month, with a price of 50,000 yen.

The world’s leading manufacturer of digital interface solutions “Wacom” have recently issued its Inkling, a magic pen set that transforms paintings or writings finished on paper into digital ones. With such an amazing function, the device would soon change the way we paint and write.

There’re mainly three parts to make an Inkling set, including a pen, a wireless receiver and an editing software that is stored in the receiver. Functioning as a regular ballpoint pen, the Inkling actually utilizes Wacom’s pressure sensing technology that allows it to capture varied line weights and therefore to create natural-looking drawings. As the user draws or writes, anything created by the pen would be sent to and then stored in the receiver automatically. Once the user needs to edit his paintings, he can then open them with Adobe Photoshop or Autodesk Sketchbook Pro and redraw them on computers.

Such a good idea should have been introduced to us much earlier… Put forward by Roni Margolin, the new gadget is an iPad protective case that doubles as wirelessly-controlled keyboard. When you take your tablet with the Hilo, you’re actually taking around a desktop! Cool.

The future of cameras now sees its possible prints with Artefact Group’s Camera Futura. It is a wireless viewfinder with an interchangeable lens, so that the users can place the lens of the camera in a needed location before they take some pictures from a distance far away.

The new camera design is ergonomic too, with extra batteries, memory storage and a removable display unit which can work as a phone-like device. Sounds exciting! Now wonder the Camera Futura has already caught many viewers’ eyes before the concept comes into real products.

For years turn signals have been protecting cars and car drivers, but now Lee Myung Su is making headway in creating a clever solution for cyclists’ safety. The SEIL (Safe Enjoy Interact Light) bag concept features an LED-equipped backpack that is controlled by a detachable wireless remote to let others on the road know when you’d like to make a turn or brakes, so as to reduce the possibility of crashes. Really a nice idea and I just wonder if the concept can also be used for pedestrians so that more and more people can be kept from the accidents.

After having picked up tiny electrical signals that change along with your thoughts, the XWave then turns them into signals that can control your phone. Charm your buddies with the “flOw” Interactive Wireless Speakers. How does it work?! Well, you’ll get the answer if you move or shake these little balls. Actually, the “flOw” system is equipped with accelerometers to interpret the users’ movements. Therefore, the speakers can interact with the users, allowing them to by shaking one of the speakers, for example. But before that, you firstly need to squeeze the speaker to activate the gesture controls. The system is developed to be used in conjunction with Apple iPod, and I reckon it’s a guaranteed conversation starter on parties.

Each set includes two pillows, which separately has a sensor fitted in a wearable chest strap that one has to wear during the night. Thanks to the sensors, lovers in two different places can get much closer, feeling their presence (the pillow glows softly if one of them goes to bed) and hearing their real-time heartbeats. Far more important, the intimate interaction between two lovers can always be ensured, no matter how far away they are from each other.

We’ve been used to seeing through the windows from time to time, because in that way, we could learn clearly what is happening outside. And maybe that’s why windows are made of translucent glass. But this piece of glass not only tells us what is happening outside, but also what will happen in the future. Powered by solar energy, the cute gadget will show you any needed information when it is wirelessly connected to your computer. So next time you need weather reports, dates and flight information, check them out on your windows.

Computer, firstly invented for military application, now has become an indispensable article to almost everyone like you and me. But, we gradually find notebooks not that convenient as we couldn’t use it freely with the embedded mouse after years of using a mobile mouse. So what about a detachable mouse? That’s just the main concept of the so-called free mouse. Wirelessly and effectively, the new product can be used as either a mobile mouse or an embedded one, all depending on your choice. Besides, when you turn on the shortcut key on side, the mouse then works as a remote controller that allows you to check emails or open the browsers. No extra charger, the free mouse could be charged automatically when you put it onto the computer.
